Currently the big fashion question is: What’s a great dress that will be useful for all my holiday events? When asked, my answer always is go with something dark velvet or rich in color like a burgundy or dark green, or choose a piece that’s metallic, sequinned or embellished and will sparkle to make you feel in the festive spirit.
Putting together this L.K. Bennett look I took some of my own advice. A favorite brand of Kate, the Duchess of Cambridge, L.K. Bennett has plenty of reliable holiday looks to keep you styled through the season. The deep blue velvet makes the playful style of the dress evening and the embroidery gives it a more decadent detail. I paired the dress with fun, silver lurex boots, which are super comfortable, so I’m ready for a night out dancing as there will be no issues with aching feet wearing this style. Shoes in metallic shades can go with anything. Maybe Cinderella could use a pair of these boots for her next ball. The boots i’m wearing are a metallic silver shade with a mid to high heel, there is also another similar L.K. Bennett style with a lower block heel in both a metallic gold and purple – its hard to choose between them!
The metallic boots are currently available and 30% off on both the L.K Bennett US and L.K. Bennett UK site, the dress however, is available only on the L.K. Bennett UK site or SaksFifthAvenue.com in the US.
L.K. Bennett runs true to size, I took my normal size a US4/UK8 in the dress and 37 in the boots.
SHOP THE LOOK:
This past season, L.K. Bennett teamed up with Preen by Thornton Bregazzi for a collaboration of dresses (collection above). I have worn Preen dresses many times here on the blog, as they always do great prints and styles. The L.K. Bennett X Preen collab had fashionistas in a frenzy, especially after Olivia Palermo wore the relaxed, wrap style Vali dress during London fashion week. Only a few sizes of this dress remain in the red and black print on both the L.K Bennett UK (click here) and L.K Bennett US sites.
