A Leather Jacket is an investment, yes, but it is worth every penny. A leather jacket is one of those pieces that you’ll never fully appreciate how worthwhile an investment it is until you’ve bit the bullet. I could talk for days about how you really will wear it with everything, how it’ll make you feel a little braver everytime you throw it on, that it will get better with age (just like you) and that you’ll have it for the rest of your life or at least until your daughter is old enough to steal it (Georgie I’m watching you).
This jacket is by Danish label Gestuz. Gestuz has a passion for chic, minimalist style. With its roots in rock music, textured finishes and clean silhouettes come together across knitwear, dresses and leather pieces. I love it when clothes have their own personality and so naturally when I saw this take on the classic biker jacket I had to add it to my collection.
The jeans are vintage levi’s re-worked by RE/DONE. High waisted and straight leg denim has a stigma attached to it (mom jeans were a denim taboo for years) but I promise that when the cut is well done the look will be modern and on trend. A great rule of thumb is to buy reworked vintage jeans, they will have a better cut and will be a lot more flattering than their thrift store counterparts.
When a look is masculine its fun to add an element that is overtly feminine to give the outfit some dimension. I opted for this Isabel Marant blouse. It’s romantic, cut with lace and covered in ruffles but it also has a strong ’80s influence so it works well with this outfit.
I completed my look with these Givenchy boots which are the perfect finishing touch to every outfit because, well, look at them. And some Celine sunglasses, the key being that they cover most of your face so you don’t have to wear any makeup which is perfect for running around London on the weekend.
Speaking of weekends, hope you all have a great one! xx
