Karl Lagerfeld said, “Sweatpants are a sign of defeat. You lost control of your life, so you bought some sweatpants.”  The sweatshirt however, has recently gotten a major revamp making its way from gym essential to fashion statement.

Kenzo and Givenchy were at the forefront of this frenzy and it seemed everywhere you looked two years ago someone famous or in fashion was supporting the revival of this workout wear item to wardrobe must-have with Kenzo’s Tiger or Tisci’s Rottweiler (now for SS14 its the Givenchy Bambi, how lucky for me I just love Bambi!).

Christopher Kane, Balenciaga and Saint Laurent have too recognized the undeniable appeal with sweatshirt standouts in their collections and yes, even Karl Lagerfeld has added one into his current season of his self named line.

One of my favorites this season is this Mary Katrantzou Forli Rose multicolor print.  I love the comfort of a sweatshirt and how it can be a fashion statement worn many ways.  Here I wore it with my current favorite boyfriend jeans by FRAME (I can’t take them off), hot orange Jimmy Choo Anouk stiletto pumps and bright blue bag because its just been too long a winter in London.
