Balmain Soldier

This year almost every major design house has drawn inspiration from the 18th Century British Solider. It’s official, the military jacket is having a moment. This trend has endured for hundreds of years and for good reasons; crisp lines and strong-shoulders, decorated with epaulettes, brass buttons and rope makes these jackets beautiful, bold and badass. They may look intimidating (that’s the idea) but I promise they will work inside any wardrobe. Wear them with a plain T-shirt or over a ballgown; these jackets are for when you need to feel brave. I wore my Pierre Balmain military blazer with deconstructed denim and my favourite Gianvito Rossi booties. Sure, I might not be on the battlefield at Waterloo, but I am at Waterloo during rush-hour and trust me, that is a battlefield that requires thick armour.  So, on days when you are headed into battle, pull on a Military jacket and soldier on. I salute you!
