My love for going to music festivals started in ’94 when I went to my first Grateful Dead concert. The 70’s were alive! I put my birkenstocks on with a boho dress, wrapped bells around my ankle, put flowers in my hair, and danced the night away in a sea of thousands of people moving rhythmically to the instrumental bombardment of guitars, keyboards and drums, without a care in the world.

As Glastonbury approaches this weekend, nearing on half a century since Woodstock, the hippie fashion influence of the 60’s & 70’s carries on where music and people gather. Now, whenever I attend Coachella or Lollapalooza I let my inner flower child be free and get inspired by an era that loved peace, love and music just as much as I do.

On to the fashion! Two musts: comfortable flat shoes and a cross-body bag or backpack.

These Ancient Greek Sandals/Marios Schwab collaboration tie up gladiators, are a pain to get on, but worth it because comfort is key and I can dance well into the night in them.

I always love to carry my Chanel 2.55 handbag, which was revived by Karl Lagerfeld in 2005 from the original one in 1955.  With the crossbody-style, it is great to tie a cardigan, flannel or sweatshirt around the strap of the bag for when it gets cold at night.

I also love wearing a great Daisy Duke, the short shorts are perfect to tan your legs all day long! These Theyskens Theory ones are one of my favorite pairs, and these Asos ones are just as great! This cool velvet fringe-cape I picked up here in London from a shop in Hampstead where Kate Moss has bought several fringey pieces over the years.

She had rings on her fingers and bells on her shoes,

And I knew without askin’ she was into the blues.

She wore scarlet begonias tucked into her curls,

I knew right away she was not like other girls, other girls.
