So many of my friends are asking me what to wear to weddings this summer. Weddings are the perfect excuse to buy a beautiful long dress that you’ll be happy sits in the back of your closet for that next last minute black tie event. My advice when making this investment is to make sure the dress is at least one of these four things: long, a great print, chiffon or a bold color.
I recently splurged on this long Isabel Marant chiffon poppy print frock to take me through the season and I could see myself wearing it to a wedding in Napa, a Garden Party in the English countryside, and so many other events throughout the summer.
I paired the dress with a classic pair of gold Manolo Blahnik strappy heels, one of my favorite Charlotte Olympia clutches and my trusted Janis Savitt earrings that never fail (JCrew make a very similar pair). Make sure to leave your Ray-Bans behind and wear a chic pair of shades that will hide those tears of happiness for the bride.
You don’t need to spend a fortune to get this look, ASOS has a similar floral slip dress and JCrew has a simple gold metallic high-heel to keep you dancing all night.
