London Fashion Week is known for its cutting edge designs and the most exclusive, insider parties. The city is buzzing with some of the world’s best street style from fashionistas who are all in London to attend the many electrifying runway shows of top British designers.

This year I only attended shows on Monday as I was celebrating Caroline Fleming’s 40th in Denmark over the weekend.

Roksanda Ilincic was the bee’s knees with yellow and black dominating the collection. Never afraid to go big or bold, here we saw both in oversized ballooning sleeves, frayed chiffon embellishments on shoulders and wide stripe patterns.

My favorite had to be Erdem. The theatrics of the show was like watching a stage play – the models as actors and the designs were the words, making you speechless. Each dress was impossibly more beautiful than the next down the runway. The femininity and elegance you find in all of Erdem’s creations is what keeps him at the top of my list.

Peter and Chris, the design duo behind Peter Pilotto nail wearable fashion with every collection. Their geometric prints coupled with great cuts and designs go a long way for today’s stylish women who want wearability in their closet. The colors and use of lace in this SS16 collection was just what I know I’ll be needing come Spring next year, I’ll surely be placing my order soon.

Osman is a designer who knows how to gauge the use of a masculine edge into womenswear with exceptional tailoring. He consistently makes a great pant and always has structured separates that compliment the women’s physique. Again this season, we saw Osman meshing together masculinity with a softer feminine side.

I was honored to attend the most exclusive party to kick off London Fashion Week hosted by Vogue and J. Crew together with US Ambassador to the UK, Matthew Barzun, and his wife, Brook Brown Barzun at Winfield House. London’s fashion elite were all in attendance including Victoria Beckham, Erdem, Christopher Kane, Nicholas Kirkwood, and Net-A-Porter group founder Natalie Massenet. While Brit babes Poppy Delevingne and Alexa Chung both shared with me their total admiration for Whispering Angel rosé as its sister wine, Les Esclans, was being poured for guests mingling around the grand house and private garden.

Fashion’s most influential arrived at the end of the day to the Green Carpet Challenge party held at The Wallace Collection, one of London’s most exquisite galleries in an historic London town house. Founded by Livia Firth, wife of Colin Firth, the Green Carpet Challenge chooses a designer each year to create a capsule collection using only sustainable materials. This year, Erdem was up for the challenge.

Later that night at the Miu Miu, LOVE magazine party at Lou Lou’s, I ran into the model, Grace Bol, who wore my exact look down the runway just six months prior at the last London Fashion Week. She said that has never happened to her before, where she has seen someone actually wearing the full look she wore down the runway.
