Maldives Spring Holiday 2016

Between the golden sand beaches and crystal blue water, it’s no surprise that the Maldives has become a very special destination for my family and I. This past spring break, we decided to ditch the drawn out winter in London, and head back again to the most magical island.

Amilla Fushi has hosted Kate Winslet, Kate Moss and this hotel really does take the cake or shall I say, Kate. The room we stayed in 301 might have been the most magical room to stay in, especially with children. A spacious room, with large outdoor area, which includes a pool and stairs to shallow turquoise ocean that immediately puts you on a white powder mini beach. We spent hours alone on this little beach collecting shells and going for little swims in heavenly water.

During the day we tried water activities, spent time on the beach by the pool, and had salads and tasty thin pizzas from their wood oven at the beach cafe. At night, we dined at one of the four restaurants, our favorite being the sunset restaurant out on the jetty, which was the perfect spot to watch the magical pink sunsets.

After four nights at Amilla Fushi, we took a 7-minute boat ride, to return to last year’s favorite hotel in the Maldives, Four Seasons Landaa Giraavaru also for four nights. We had such a wonderful time at Landaa Giraavaru last year, that we just had to go back again!

April in the Maldives is hot! Good sunglasses, hats and SPF are key, just as is always staying chic. A lot of my coverups and swimsuits on this trip were from BeachCafe.com with brands like PilyQ, LSpace and Seafolly becoming my new island must-haves.
