Caped Crusader

It’s official, we have reached that awkward time of year when you can comfortably wear a coat in the morning and die of heatstroke in the afternoon.

What are you supposed to wear when you want to stay hot but look cool in the morning, but then stay cool but look hot in the afternoon?

Well in true wonder woman fashion I’m here to save the day! Meet my answer to transitional dressing: the Red Valentino Cape.

This piece encapsulates two serious AW16 trends in one item; Military and Capes. Maybe that is why I’m obsessed with it. I love to pair the cape with my favourite Balenciaga boots. Unfortunately these boots are sold out everywhere given that metallic footwear is the must have of the season. Lucky for you, I have picked some similar options that you can still get your hands on, by Anine BingMango and Gianvito Rossi. I just can’t get enough, I wear these boots all day, every day.

I think capes can sometimes run the risk of looking preppy, so when I want to look edgier I’ll pair mine with deconstructed denim to make sure I’m more downtown than uptown.
